About the Role
We are a fast-moving national security contractor with an advanced, classified technology portfolio focused on next-gen defense capabilities. As COO, you will take operational command of a company delivering high-impact technologies—across AI/ML, autonomous systems, secure communications, and edge computing—into some of the most sensitive mission environments in the world. This is a hands-on leadership role for an operator who understands both the urgency of the mission and the complexity of delivering innovation within highly regulated, highly secure frameworks.
Core Responsibilities
• Lead Execution. Translate strategic goals into operational plans across R&D, product delivery, infrastructure, and field deployment.
• Run Secure Programs. Oversee execution of classified programs with full accountability for delivery timelines, quality, and compliance.
• Integrate Tech + Mission. Ensure operational alignment between technical teams and mission objectives—bridging lab capabilities with real-world use.
• Strengthen Infrastructure. Own operational security (OPSEC), compliance (NISPOM, CMMC, NIST), and secure facilities (SCIFs, SIPR/NIPR environments).
• Build Teams. Lead and scale technical, security, program, and support teams to meet growing classified demand.
• Interface with Government. Act as a trusted operational liaison with program managers, contracting officers, and security officials across DoD and the IC.
• Drive Process Discipline. Introduce rigor and repeatability into systems that support agility without compromising security.
You Bring
• Proven operator experience with 10+ years in national security, defense contracting, or dual-use tech
• Experience in running operations for classified or SAP/SAR programs
• Technically fluent—you understand enough about AI, autonomy, and advanced systems to lead effectively across engineering and mission teams
• Comfortable in both startup and government cultures—fast-moving, resourceful, and ready to make critical decisions under pressure
• Expert in secure operations, including facility management, personnel clearance protocols, and classified IT systems
• An active Top Secret/SCI clearance holder; Full Scope Poly is a strong plus
Preferred Experience
• Direct work with DARPA, IARPA, JSOC, DIA, or special access programs
• Operational leadership in a cleared R&D facility or secure prototyping environment
• Familiarity with DFARS, ITAR, export controls, and federal acquisition models (OTAs, IDIQs, SBIRs)
• Experience transitioning classified prototypes into fieldable, accredited systems
Why This Role Matters
The next generation of national defense technology can’t be built inside outdated structures. As COO, your job is to lead operations that are agile, secure, and built to outpace global threats. You’ll ensure sensitive technologies reach the right hands—fast, functional, and fully mission-aligned.
